The Knicks play the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. This could be good or bad for the Knicks.
On the positive, Novak had one of his best shooting games all season against the Bucks in Milwaukee in front of his home crowd. If the Bucks don't change their game plan and leave him open, expect him to make it rain. If they do stick a defender on him in hopes that they don't get burned, expect better spacing down low for Amar'e and Melo to work with.
As you may have noticed, the Knicks have been getting burned by opposing point guards and backcourts recently. Jameer Nelson and JJ Redick were hot in the first half last game. Before that Jeff Teague, Jrue Holiday, and Rajon Rondo. The Bucks have two very fast guards in Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis. Jennings, in particular, loves to torch the Knicks. If Shumpert isn't on top of him, expect a lot of shots from Jennings.
That just might be the game plan. Make Jennings the volume scorer and hope he goes cold. He's not exactly on fire right now with his FG% just above 40%. But the Bucks do have other weapons. Ersan Ilyasova is starting to come along, and Ellis can pour in points quickly. The Knicks are going to have to start with Jennings and shut him down. Then the help defense and weak side rotations should be able to limit the Bucks.
Score prediction: 100 - 90 Knicks over Bucks.
